Seven Locks Housing is a new housing organisation created to take the transfer of 2100 homes from Harborough District Council. Seven Locks Housing, together with the highly successful Dales Housing, is part of the Acclaim Housing Group.
Seven Locks meets tenants' and the local community's requirement for local ownership of assets and services with the benefits of support, expertise and economies of scale from the group.
Tenants and staff worked hard over a number of years to ensure the stock would transfer to a locally based, locally accountable housing organisation that would add value to the local community as well as provide an excellent housing service and new affordable housing. Central to this work was selecting an experienced housing association partner, Dales Housing, that understands the needs of rural communities and of transfer housing associations.
Work has already begun on delivering the transfer promises made to tenants for improvements to homes and services.
We have made great progress in delivering our promise of 60 new affordable homes within five years of transfer. Seven new properties have been completed and handed over and a further thirty are under development in Kibworth.
Tenants, Board members and staff are currently involved in a comprehensive process for the selection of contractors for the modernisation programme. This process is designed to ensure quality is at the heart of our selection and that the contractors can evidence experience and excellence in their delivery and in customer care
At the beginning of 2008 we will be undertaking a fundamental review of all aspects of our customer services. This will ensure we have everything we need in place to deliver to excellence in customer services when we move into our new accommodation later in 2008.
